I'm Baa-aackk!!

Miss me? Well I'd like to think you did. Not really all that much to report since the last time I decided to pop on by. Still unmarried, still have crappy hours. Still talking about law school but have yet to sign up for the LSAT's. One of these days I'm going to stop talking about it and do it. I wouldn't say I'm scared, exactly, ah hell, I really have no excuse for why I haven't done it yet. Money maybe? Yeah that's it, money. LSAT prep course is expensive. The LSAT fee to TAKE the test is expensive, and hell, LAW SCHOOL is expensive. European friends, the LSAT determines if you're smart enough for law school and the better score you get, the more prestigious law school you go to, it's simple really...It's oh, just your whole life!

Oh here's news. Facebook can kiss my butt. It's being extremely mean to me, and I just may give up on it. So I'll tweet for now.

So, last night my bestie's car got vandalzied at work in the parking garage. I've told her HOW many times to not go in there, especially because she comes out alone, but I digress. If she parks across the street she has to leave earlier, and hell, she leaves early enough as it is. I know, I've stayed over.

More later must go, calls  enver end!

As usual, I have other things I should be doing, but also as usual, I totally don't feel like doing them. Oh, don't get me wrong--I tried to do my crap, but there are other things more important going on.

OK, thing one. I was, though probably no longer am with this story, a closet Monkee fan. I hope Davy Jones gets the media hype Whitney Houston did, because I think he was a greater legend and icon. Don't get me wrong, Whitney was amazing, but it's the over-glorifying a drug addict that gets me. A heart attack is easier for the public to "swallow." I thought back to when I was 12 and my cousin and I made up our own lyrics to "Daydream Believer." Of course they made no sense at all, but it was fun. I still can't hear the song without laughing and singing my own version in my head. When I was 10 and my dad would drive me to school, we used to listen to the Beach Boys. One day he comes out with the Monkees greatest hits, and because it was off routine, I pfff'd at it. He made me give it a chance, boom, I was hooked. So for 16 years I've loved them and thought Davy was hot. And I'm ok with that. I don't care who makes fun of me. So, RIP Davy, you were a true part of my childhood, and probably one of my first crushes.

Second, I had one of those depressing "Life is so fast" talks with Jess on the way to the movies last night. We both concluded that time and life itself drags by so SLOW when you're a little kid, but now it's just zooming past like the blink of an eye. Feels like we were just turning 26, before we know it it'll be May and she'll be an old bat, then July will come and I'll be an old bat, and then before we know it it'll be Christmas again and we'll be having that "Shit! It's Christmas already?! Feels like we were just turning 27..." talk. I don't want to be old, I just don't. Not that I'm going to pull a Pier Angelli situation(Google it if you don't know!), but 30?! ANCIENT. 40?! EVEN WORSE! Although part of me can't wait to order off the old people menu because it's cheaper and get discounts, having your body break down and your looks fall apart is not worth it!

AND THEN, if that wasn't enough to swallow, I ended up befriending some gal I met a couple months ago, and she tells me the other day she's a lesbian. Um, weird, but ok. I'd be happier not knowing that detail, but if she trusts me with that knowledge, that's an honour. Anyway, she  texts me like non stop, and it's kind of, sort of, starting to freak me out. Random stuff.. How are you, what are you doing, I'm waiting for "What are you wearing?" I feel like I'm talking to my mother, because she loves to text me random stuff during my shifts. I'm like ok you're nice and all, but 1) You're starting to smother me. 2) I don't play for that team. 3) I am the WORST at having a phone. I am, really. I throw it in my bag, or in the car, and forget about it. Then I come back and I have like 20 messages from different people. But really?! We're not even "together" and she's all questioning me and I made it clear I don't bat for that team..I like my boys! Ay yi yi! I try to be nice, and I get a weirdy. Just my luck.Anybody have a way I can back-peddle out of this?

I ADOPTED YOUR PET TODAY

I adopted your pet today -  the one you left at the pound.
The one you had for ten years - and no longer wanted around.
I adopted your pet today - did you know that he's lost weight?
Did you know he's scared and depressed and seems to have lost all faith?
I adopted your pet today - he had fleas and a little cold.
Guess you don't care what shape he's in  - you abandoned him I am told.
I adopted your pet today - were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies - or was there NO reason he could stay?
I adopted your pet today - he doesn't play or even eat much.
I guess he's very sad inside and It'll take time for him to trust.
I adopted your pet today - and here he is going to stay.
He's found his FOREVER home - and a warm bed in which to lay.
I adopted your pet today - and shall give him all that he will need.
Patience, love, and security - so he can forget your selfish deed

Psh.

I just want to talk a little bit about the evil-ness of rining in the new year with crap news. Last year, my mom's friend Rita's mom died pretty early on in the month, so she had to start off 2011 with a funeral and all the nasty, unfun, depressing stuff that goes along with that. A couple days ago, our intake coordinator for AZ Beagle rescue passed away, in what I'm assuming was suddenly, because I had NO idea anything was even wrong. Alright, I wasn't close close to him or his wife, but they were always nice to me and Kylie is just the sweetest person you'd ever want to know in your life. Period. The intake coordinator was a pretty important position, they'd get the E-list from the shelters every day and just keep up with looking for beagles and helping them get into foster homes as quickly as possible. Thing is, she's 5 years older than me. It so could have been me going through this situation. 5 years sounds like a lot, but when you really think about it, it isn't. I wish I knew what happened, but I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me, and I think it's really rude to be like "So, how'd your husband die?" when it's only been 2 days! I'm going to try to go to the service(even though it's FARRR), we'll see how that goes.

RIP Roger.. Your pooches, the Beagles, and AZBR will miss you!!

New Year, New Start

Ok guys, anyone who knows me knows I'm horrible at keeping resolutions.. At least those resolutions that involve diets, or cutting down my potty mouth-- all it takes is one bad day, or hitting something in the middle of the night, and I fail in both of those.

But these, I'm going to try and keep.. Are you ready?

new years resolutions: stop blaming myself for things that happened when I was younger, and therefore too stupid or inexperienced to try and stop them, to make up and fix the things I should have done or should have said, apologize to those who deserve it and hold up a middle finger to those who put me down, peruse all my dreams to the best of my ability- this includes law school and applying for the FBI! It's time guys , and finally, just be happy I guess, accept this is how I am and this is how I please people.

Love it!

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense , who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on.
If not, join the majority and do nothing.
